Abstract

In May 2017, the Lampung Composite CPI experienced an increase in the index from 129.66 in April 2017 to 30.81 in May 2017, resulting in inflation of 0.88 percent.

Based on calculations, inflation for the calendar year (point to point) in May 2017 was 1.95 percent, and inflation year on year (yoy) in May 2017 was 5.12 percent.

Of the seven expenditure groups, five groups experienced inflation, namely the foodstuffs group rose 2.59 percent; the prepared food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco group rose 0.21 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group rose 0.81 percent; clothing group rose 0.21 percent; and the transportation, communications and financial services group rose 0.11 percent. On the other hand, two groups experienced deflation, namely the health group fell by 0.26 percent; and the education, recreation and sports group fell 0.07 percent.
