Abstract

In February 2016, the city of Bandar Lampung experienced deflation again, namely 0.51 percent after experiencing inflation the previous month. There are three expenditure groups that contribute to deflation in Bandar Lampung City, namely the foodstuffs group that contributes to deflation of 0.36 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas & fuel group by 0.15 percent; and the transportation, communications & financial services group at 0.06 percent. Meanwhile, four other groups are holding back the rate of deflation, namely the processed food, beverages, cigarettes & tobacco group with an inflation share of 0.02 percent; health group by 0.02 percent; clothing group by 0.01 percent; and the education, recreation & sports group with an inflation contribution of 0.01 percent.

Several commodities that dominantly contribute to deflation include electricity rates, red chilies, shallots, purebred chicken meat, squid, petrol, watermelon, purebred chicken eggs, air transportation, and carrots.
