Abstract

The Consumer Tendency Index (ITK) is an indicator of the latest consumer economic development produced by the Central Statistics Agency through the Consumer Tendency Survey (STK). ITK is an index that describes consumer economic conditions in the current quarter and estimates for the next quarter.

The number of STK samples in the fourth quarter of 2016 was 14,600 households in all provinces in Indonesia. STK respondents for the fourth quarter of 2016 in Lampung Province were 300 respondents, selected in the medium and high category census block strata based on the "wealth index" and were a subsample of the National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas) specifically in urban areas. Sample selection was carried out on a panel basis between quarters to obtain a more accurate picture of changes in consumer perceptions over time. At the same time, improvements were also made to the questionnaire and the method for calculating the index.
