Abstract

Lampung's poverty rate in September 2014 decreased slightly compared to March 2014, namely from 14.28 percent to 14.21 percent. In absolute terms, the number of poor people increased slightly to 1,143.93 thousand people compared to March 2014 which was 1,142.92 thousand people.

During the period March 2014 – September 2014, the poor population in urban areas decreased by around 6.43 thousand people, while in rural areas it increased by 7.44 thousand people. The percentage of poor people in urban areas in March 2014 was 11.08 percent, decreasing to 10.68 percent in September 2014, while the poor population in rural areas increased from 15.41 percent to 15.46 percent in the same period.
